Every lounge at Terminal 4
Nine lounges operate at Terminal 4. Hours below are the airport's.
- Delta One Lounge: Level 4, 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Delta One customers only, under rules Delta publishes and has revised since opening.
- Delta Sky Club: two clubs. Concourse A near Gate A8, 4:45 AM to 11:30 PM; Concourse B near Gate B31, 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM.
- The Centurion Lounge: Level 4, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders.
- Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways: Level 4, 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Chase admits Sapphire Reserve cardholders and eligible Priority Pass Select members, and notes the hours can vary. Shower suites and prayer rooms inside.
- Capital One Lounge: Level 3 of the Retail Hall near the B gates, open 24 hours, for Venture X and Venture X Business primary cardholders. Shower suites.
- Emirates Lounge: Level 4 near Gate A5, 7:30 AM to 11:15 PM. Emirates premium cabins, with shower suites and boarding straight from the lounge.
- Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse: Level 4 near Gate A5, 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM. Virgin Atlantic's flagship, which also appears in the Priority Pass network but only from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Air India Maharaja Lounge: Level 4 near Gate A5, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Air India's own lounge, now in Priority Pass and on American Express's Platinum list for Terminal 4, with enrollment required.
Two official pages disagree here. The airport's Terminal 4 page names eight lounges "including" a list, omits the Emirates Lounge, and still names the HelloSky Lounge, which closed permanently on May 31, 2026. Its venue directory has neither problem, so the directory is the one to trust and the marketing sentence is the stale one.
All nine are past security. The one lounge-adjacent thing on the landside of Terminal 4 is the check-in hall itself, so if your plan depends on lounge time, clear security first and budget for the line. The Terminal 4 guide covers the building end to end, including the walk times that decide whether a lounge near gate A2 makes sense when you board at B52.
The credit card lounges
Terminal 4 is where the credit card lounge race happens at JFK: Capital One, American Express and Chase all run a space in this one building, and none of the three requires a business class ticket. That makes them the most heavily used rooms in the terminal, and the honest note that comes with every one of them is that a card which grants access does not guarantee a seat at peak.
The Capital One Lounge holds the most useful fact on this page: it is open 24 hours, per Capital One itself, which no other lounge in the terminal publishes. A red-eye or a 5:00 AM departure is exactly when most lounges are shut and exactly when this one is not. It sits on Level 3 of the Retail Hall near the B gates. Access is for Venture X and Venture X Business primary cardholders after enrollment, shown with the physical card or the digital pass in Capital One's app, and entry is subject to space.
The Centurion Lounge takes American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders, and carries the catch that matters most on this page: it runs 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the earliest close of any lounge in the terminal. Terminal 4's international departure bank is an evening event, so a Platinum card and a 7:00 PM flight to Europe do not meet here. Expect a line at busy times too; a card that grants access does not hold you a seat.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways is on Level 4 and publishes hours of 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, with Chase's own caveat that they can vary. Sapphire Reserve cardholders and eligible Priority Pass Select members get in under Chase's published rules. It is one of four Terminal 4 lounges whose airport listing names shower suites.
The airline lounges
Delta anchors Terminal 4 and its lounges show it. The Delta One Lounge is the top of the range, restricted to Delta One customers, and Delta has changed the access rules since it opened, so read the current guidelines on delta.com rather than assuming a status tier or a card qualifies. The two Delta Sky Clubs, one per concourse, mean you use the one on your own side rather than walking the building. Delta publishes and revises Sky Club access itself, so the same advice applies: check the current rules, not a remembered version of them.
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is the terminal's other flagship, serving Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class and eligible frequent flyers. It runs 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM, but Priority Pass access stops at 1:30 PM, and that afternoon cutoff is the one that binds a pass holder: a Priority Pass on an evening flight cannot plan around this room.
The Emirates Lounge near Gate A5 runs 7:30 AM to 11:15 PM for Emirates premium cabins, and it has the trick none of the others have: boarding straight from the lounge. The Air India Maharaja Lounge, also near Gate A5, runs 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM and is the newest addition to Priority Pass at JFK, listed there 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM. One absence worth naming, because guides repeat it: Korean Air's lounge is at Terminal 1, where Korean Air checks in, not at Terminal 4. Access rules for every program across the airport are compared on the JFK lounges guide.
Naps, the spa, and what closed
Terminal 4 used to have a door for everyone else. The HelloSky Lounge sold entry with no card and no cabin required, and it closed permanently on May 31, 2026. The evidence is one-sided even though the airport's Terminal 4 page has not caught up: the reseller that sold its passes says on its own page that the lounge shut that day, Priority Pass and American Express have both delisted it, and the operator's page for it returns a 404. With it gone, every lounge in this terminal is gated on a cabin, a status tier or a card.
Two doors are still open, and they solve adjacent problems. Minute Suites sells private suites by the hour near Gate B39, past security, around the clock, which is the honest answer to a long overnight connection in a terminal where sleeping in a chair is the default. XWELL runs spa services twice in the terminal, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, for a massage or a manicure rather than a meal. Neither publishes a price worth quoting here; ask at the door or book ahead.
There are no public showers anywhere at JFK, and four Terminal 4 lounges name shower suites of their own: Capital One, Chase Sapphire, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic. So a shower here is a lounge benefit rather than an airport facility, and which lounge you can enter decides whether you get one.
Crowding, and how to plan around it
Three credit card programs, two Delta Sky Clubs and about half of Terminal 4's passengers flying internationally add up to real congestion. Crowding follows the departure schedule, and international flights check in earlier and arrive in bigger waves, so a room that was quiet at 11:00 AM can be at capacity by mid afternoon. If your card promises access, arrive assuming a line at the desk rather than an open armchair.
Check the location against your gate before you commit. Terminal 4's own walk times run to 10 to 14 minutes from security to the far end of Concourse B, so a lounge near gate A2 sits a real walk from a B50s boarding call. The Terminal 4 map guide lays out the concourses and where the far gates actually are.
And if the room is full, the fallback is better than it sounds: Terminal 4 carries more than 135,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, and a table at one of them is most of what a lounge visit buys anyway. The Terminal 4 food guide covers what is on the far side of security.
